Denpasar city is the capital of the province of Bali, Indonesia.

Denpasar (1949)
Name Denpasar derived from the word 'den' (south) and 'market' so that the overall meaning "South of Market", previously the area was part of the Kingdom of Badung, an empire that had stood since the 19th century, before the kingdom ditundukan by Dutch on September 20, 1906, in a heroic event known as Puputan Badung War.
