Pecel

Pecel (some areas pronounce "pecal") is a food that uses peanut sauce seasoning as its main ingredient mixed with various kinds of vegetables. Origin of the word and pecel area not known for certain, but in the Java language, pecel can be interpreted as 'mashed' or 'destroyed by means of ground'.

Pecel estimated to come from Madiun, East Java, because the peanut sauce seasoning used in pecel mixture similar to that used as a spice in the sate Ponorogo. The food is also similar to the hodgepodge that is distinguished by a mix of materials and textures marinade.
